HelpIconAssigned Campaign Traffic Cap

Affiliate traffic caps allow you to redirect traffic for an affiliate when their approved conversions for a campaign reached the cap amount. You can specify the number of approved transactions by day, month, or in total. Once the cap is met, LinkTrust redirects all new clicks to the parameters specified at the campaign level filters for traffic cap. All traffic caps are “soft” or approximate caps, so it is recommended that caps are set accordingly.

In a soft cap, when the traffic cap has been met, there may be other consumers that have already clicked through on the campaign's tracking link. If they clicked through before the cap was met, there is the possibility that the consumer might still convert. If this happens, the approved transaction will be credited to the affiliate.

Cap Criteria

The Cap Criteria section sets the traffic cap for the affiliate. To set an affiliate traffic cap, do the following:

  1. Under Cap Criteria, mark Enable Affiliate Campaign Traffic Cap.
  2. In the Cap Amount field, enter the number of transactions.
  3. Specify the time frame for receiving approved transactions by selecting one of the following: Per Day, Per Month, or In Total.
  4. Select Update.

The current count shows how much traffic the campaign has received towards the cap.

The Date Last Manually Set/Reset identifies the last date the traffic cap was set and the redirection URL. All traffic cap redirections are controlled at the campaign level and not the affiliate level.

Cap Notification

Cap notifications are emails sent to partners and affiliates when a campaign or affiliate cap is near to or at the selected percent threshold.

By default, all user account email addresses are pre-populated in the cap notification email address field. You must remove any email address for individuals who should not receive a notification. To add a new recipient, enter the email address on a new line.

The Cap Notification section allows you to set a traffic cap percentage and email notifications. When the traffic cap reaches this percentage, an email notification is sent to the email address recipient listed stating that the campaign traffic cap is about to be met. If you would like to notify the campaign manager and other users when the campaign traffic cap has met its specified threshold, do the following:

  1. Mark Enable Email Notification.
  2. In Notify when cap reaches, enter the percentage to be notified at.
  3. In Email Addresses, enter the email address for the individuals that should be notified when the cap reaches the email notification percentage.
  4. Select Update.
